We lost two wonderful Super Socialites recently whose contributions to our people and our history will not be forgotten. I hope that many of us will consider following their example.
Harold Rush of Philadelphia was a long standing member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity (more than 50 years). Mr. Rush was an incredibly nice man who mentored several young Black men in Philadelphia and ensured that many received college scholarships. His funeral was attended by scores of political and social luminaries including the current Mayor of Philadelphia. His best friend and wife of fifty years - Dorothy Sumners Rush - is very active in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and is a past President of the Philadelphia Links. Mr. Rush also has three sons, one daughter, and one grandson.
Helen Logue Aubry of Silver Spring, MD recently passed at age 92. She was a charter member of the Queens Chapter of Jack and Jill and a member of The Links, Inc. Mrs. Aubry was also one of the founding members of Azurest - a Black resort area in Sag Harbor, NY (the Hamptons).
