Friday's Fabulous Flick

This week’s flick features the President of Oracle Corporation Charles E. Phillips, Jr. and his wife Karen with John Flynn at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) held its annual gala a few weeks ago. Approximately 600 guests attended this year’s event. Mr. Phillips (who is a Board of Directors member of AMNH) is also an active member of the Board of Directors for Jazz at Lincoln Center and is a member of President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board.

OK, I need to run some errands while I continue to recover from turkey coma.

I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the weekend!

Cheers!

On November 8th, The Philadelphia Chapter of The Links, Incorporated hosted a swinging Jazz luncheon event at the Hyatt at Penn’s Landing Hotel. More than 400 attendees enjoyed a lunch while celebrating the achievements of three honorees for outstanding community service:

Dr. English Willis, Ms. Brianna Baxter, and Mrs. Dorothy Sumners Rush (a Philadelphia Link chapter member).

The Philadelphia Links also showed a video presentation that highlighted their work with ‘The Big Read’ literacy project and; their sponsorship of ten Haitian businesswomen to undergo financial literacy training in partnership with Fonkoze.

Congratulations to Deidre Patterson (the event’s chair) and all of the members of the Philadelphia Chapter’s Fundraising Committee for a job well done!

The event is also covered in The Philadelphia Tribune online.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Pamela Joyner and Fred Giuffrida hosted their 3rd annual Masked Ball last month in San Francisco and raised more than $500,000 to benefit Survivor Corps. With a color theme of white and gold, this year’s event has a little extra fabulousness as simulcasts were held in three additional cities: Los Angeles, New York (hosted by Reginald Van Lee) and London.
