The Links, Incorporated recently celebrated 65 years of friendship and service with a spectacular weekend that culminated into a gala featuring Will Downing. The new Links, Incorporated headquarters was also dedicated officially - in a building renovated largely from cash donations of Links members. The celebration weekend was book-ended with worship services (photos are below)
Ebony Magazine received the inaugural award at the gala which raised more than $1.3 million to support a variety of educational and charitable endeavors of The Links, Incorporated.
Special thanks to Link Alice Chapman-Minutello who was kind enough to share her photos and synopsis of the weekend with me.
Hands down – the best coverage of the weekend activities appeared in The Washington Post (friend to this blog).
It is a proud moment in the life of any Black organization that celebrates a significant milestone in these difficult economic times.
Kudo Sister Links and The Links, Incorporated National President Margo James Copeland!
What a wonderful way to shine!
