Wine Tasting Held in Support of Philadelphia's Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra

On Thursday, December 1st, 40 supporters of the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra attended a wine tasting soiree hosted by Adam Hymans at the Overbrook loft of Maestra Jeri Lynne Johnson. Adam Hymans, is president of the orchestra's Young Friends Society.

Byron C. Mayes, Certified Specialist of Wine, led the formal tasting. Guests, both novices and connoisseurs alike, enriched their knowledge and palates with an international variety of wines from regions in South Africa, France, New Zealand, Australia, and the United States.

Adam opened with remarks about the orchestra's critical mission and Jeri Lynne Johnson announced that the next concert on March 10th will feature music of the Chevalier de Saint Georges, an 18th century Afro-French composer known as the “Black Mozart.”
