Friday's Fabulous Flick

This week's flick features Super Socialite Susan Fales-Hill with Laurie Wofford having a good time at Fales-Hill's recent book signing party. The event was held at J.McLaughlin’s in Southampton, New York.

Her new novel, Imperfect Bliss, has been described by Library Journal as "..chick lit with intellectual streak." The story centers around a successful mixed race family whose youngest daughter becomes a reality television "star"- and pulls other family members in on the action.

Sounds like a fun read - so I'll have to score a copy soon.

Cheers all!

Powerful, Black, & "Undercover:" The Akils

I love reading about powerful Black dealmakers - as I believe it serves as inspirational to others.

The Hollywood Reporter is not one of my regular reads but shout out to them for this great feature article on "Hollywood's Undercover Hitmakers: Salim and Mara Brock Akil" by Kim Masters.

The article's drop quote says it all: "They're black, Muslim and gorgeous in an industry not known for its diverse embrace. Yet the husband and wife have made one Hollywood winner after another, and now have Whitney Houston's final film, "Sparkle," as their biggest bet yet."
I look forward to your feedback about this article on Facebook!

Friday's Fabulous Flicks

This summer has been an outstanding on the history making side for Black Women in America.  Now, while I know you’re eager to see some of my wedding photos, I have to pay homage to these (newly!) legendary women this week.

While I was away on vacation/honeymoon, the Internet was all abuzz about 80+ year old Jacquie "Tajah" Murdock who was featured as a print model for the French designer Lanvin. Can you believe how amazing she looks?!

Fashionista.com did the best coverage of this story about Ms. Murdock’s dream deferred of becoming a model. She’s an outstanding role model for so many of us!

And what more could I possibly say about 16 year old Gabrielle Christina Victoria "Gabby" Douglas – our history making Golden Girl! I beam with joy and pride each time I see her!

I hope you have fun plans for the weekend good people!

It's raining in my hometown so I'll be enjoying the condo with some movies and barbeque delights.

Cheers all!

Friday's Fabulous Flick

I AM MARRIED!!!

WOO-HOO!!

After 2 1/2 years of sooooo many wedding planning issues and challenges, the former Fab Fiance is now my hubby!

This is a photo of my rings.

Our wedding weekend with our family and friends in St. Thomas USVI last month was absolutely beautiful.

And, thanks to so many of you who sent the most beautiful congratulatory emails and messages on Facebook.

Now, a few business items:

1) I will share some wedding items photos soon.

2) The former Fab Fiance needs a new moniker - so send me your suggestions!

Have a super weekend good people!

I'm back off of vacation and onto to blogging again.

We have so much to discuss.

Cheers!
