Visiting Seattle

I'm literally up in the air while blogging this post. I'm on my way to Seattle - a grueling six hour flight from the East Coast. I'll be there until the end of this month

So for this flight - I have my hair pin-curled, my bottle of water, my reading materials, earbuds, and the satin bonnet. I should be in my hotel around 1am EST.

Seattle is one of America's most beautiful cities. The food is incredible and shopping is wonderful!

I will miss my hubby as this is my second long distance trip this month. But when "duty" calls we must answer.

Have a good remainer of the week special people!

Today was a great day

Today was a great day!

Millions participated in a National Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, East Coast weather was stable until a few moments ago, the First Lady looked AMAZING, and the President took his second oath of office.

Plus after six dreadful weeks, I'm finally feeling much better!

All is well in my world.

Visiting Chicago This Week

I'm heading to Chicago tomorrow to participate in an "advanced leaders" training institute associated with one of the major organizations with which I volunteer. I'm excited about this - but at the same time, I'm sick and cranky about being sick.

Pray for me everyone.

Long time readers of this blog know that I get "sick" multiple times of each year with colds and viruses. Unfortunately, this is an occupational hazard because my full time job entails working with the public (many of whom do not wash their hands on a regular basis).

Think that's disgusting - well it's the truth. The majority of these "icks" traveling around are because people have forsaken hand washing. So wash, wash, wash those hands and ramp up on your vitamins. I saw a network news report talking about the flu outbreak traveling around the US. Get a flu shot and guard thyself from the plague!!

Anyhoo - back to Chicago. It's one of my favorite American cities and I also enjoy visiting. My days and evenings are tied up when I visit. So many thanks to several of you in advance whom always offer to buy this gal coffee, tea, cocktails, dinners, and/or offer suggestions for places to check out.

Enough about me - and now a bit onto you. I hope that your new year is going well so far. We have some crazy nonsense jumping off in Congress - which is not totally a surprise. The good news is that those affected by Hurricane Sandy will finally receive long overdue federal relief aid.

If you've made some resolutions for this year, I'm sending out good vibes that you will be successful in achieving your goals.

Take care good people! We'll chat again soon.

Friday's Fabulous Flick

This week's flick features the Delta Sigma Theta 2013 Rose Bowl Parade Float.

How great it is to see another Black women's organization turn 100 years old and do it up BIG?!

Bravo Sister Greeks  - and yes, I watched the parade *grins*

You looked beautiful in all of your crimson and cream splendor!
