Friday's Fabulous Flicks



Recently, two New York state based chapters of The Links, Incorporated held fabulous events with more than 1100 attendees total. Dianne S. Hardison (Eastern Area Director, The Links, Incorporated), Alice Chapman-Minutello, Dawna Michelle Fields, Lorna Hawthorne, Gerri Warren Merrick - Greater New York Chapter President, Patricia A. Thomas - Greater Queens Chapter President, and Inez N. Richardson Metro-Manhattan Chapter President did double duty attending both fabulous affairs. 
Over 500 elegantly attired guests attended the Greater Hudson Valley Chapter of The Links, Incorporated 9th annual “Ladies in Hats” Fundraiser Luncheon at the Doubletree by Hilton in Tarrytown, New York. Cleo Dixon of Health Plus, Amerigroup was honored with the Community Leadership Award. Dr. Dorothy Cowser Yancy, Ph.D retired President of Shaw University was also honored.
Cynthia Rountree, Esq. is President of Greater Hudson Valley Chapter and Elaine Edmonds served as LIH Luncheon Chair. Other attendees included Mary D. Redd, , Renée V. H. Simons, Robin H. Williams, Cora Sarjeant Wilder, Rosia Blackwell Lawrence, Elizabeth A. Wade-Mahoney, Helen L. Williams, Tyrha M. Lindsey, and Robin Ham. 
I also believe that Kimberly Jeffries Leonard (National Recording Secretary- The Links, Incorporated) and Bishetta D. Merritt (Immediate Past Eastern Area Director, The Links, Incorporated) were in attendance as well.

Wanda Wardlaw Matthews, president of the Long Island Chapter of The Links and F. Dianne Young  president of the Westchester County (NY) were just a few of the Links Chapter presidents who joined The Honorable Cheryl Chambers, President of the Brooklyn Chapter of The Links for the chapter’s “60th Anniversary Dinner Dance benefit of Salute to Youth, Inc.” 

More than 600 guests packed the ballroom at Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadow Park, New York for this event.  Evelyn Castro C’ Arceuil, Ph.D and Clotilde Guinier Stenson served as 60th Anniversary Celebration Co-Chairs.

A historical display and video was shown and members of the Brooklyn Chapter of The Links, Incorporated were introduced. Guests dined on an international buffet and enjoyed music by the Warren Daniels Band.  The Brooklyn Chapter of the Links, Inc. began their sixty year celebration at Concord Baptist Church of Christ with a Worship Service.

Annette Robinson, Perry and Jocelyn Rainey, Livingston and Betty Francis, Bernard and Kerry Jackson, Hon. Tish James, Laurie Cumbo, Gregorio & Onida Coward Mayers, and Robert and Michelle Cornegy.
